The first task was to register to the challenge.fi site and accept the rules of the service. Then I picked a challenge from this year’s offering called “Antagonist’s artistic ancestor”. The challenge is to find out the street address of a specific artistic society’s building today with the given hints and the image provided.
First I did a reverse image search on the image. I used TinEye and found 8 matching results. I followed the result that led to GamesRadar.com and found out that the gadget is from a movie called “The Living Daylights”. The grandfather of the antagonist’s actor was indeed a famous Dutch painter, which indicated I was on the right track.
Another search with the grandfathers name provided an Wikipedia page that mentioned him being ” a long-standing member of Arti et Amicitiae”. The last search with the society name returned the official site of the society and the correct address. I was able to submit the correct flag and solve the challenge.
